1) Start with a 30 day trial: Thirty days to stop is easier to maintain than to stop for good. Tell yourself that you stop thirty days and then you may blow back if you still want to, anyway. After thirty days you'll really notice the difference between a life with or without weed, and chances are that you do not even want to smoke more weed.
If you relapse during the thirty days that's not a disaster, it happens to the best of us. In that case, just begin again. Thirty days seem too much? Start with two weeks or just five days. Once that is successful, you are ready for the next step!
2) Tell the world: Tell to friends or strangers that you are going to stop. Make it a status update on Facebook or start a blog! Worked for me!
3) Turn on the advantages and disadvantages of (not) smoking weed at a glance: You can easily develop a list of the pros and cons of smoking weed. You can also make a list of the main advantages and disadvantages of not blowing.
Finally, you can make a list of your reasons to live drug-free. The more personal your list, the better. Keep this list close to you, example in your wallet stabbing. Look at it every day or at times when you get "wrong" thoughts. Need inspiration? There are my many reasons.
4) Prepare for moments that make you want to return to light up.
5) Keep a diary blow: Set this when you smoke, how much and with whom. How do you feel afterwards? Why do you blow? Do you notice a certain pattern? It can draw lessons.
6) Learn from a downturn: Even if you do your best, a relapse is always possible. Please try to look to learn. Why did you return to smoked weed? Were you not confident enough? There is always a reason why you've smoked weed back. Keep this in mind when you next attempt to quit.
7) Beware of substitutes: You do not want to trade one addiction with another. Your life is better without weed, so why should you replace it with something?
8) Keep yourself busy: This is especially in the first few days. If you're bored or have nothing to do, your mind wanders. Go to the movies or start exercising. Pull up with friends who are not smoking weed, so you will not be tempted.
9) Learn from the experiences of other people or search the Internet for other people trying to stop or have stopped.
10) Prepare yourself for: Do not stop too impulsive. If you prepare, the chances of success is much greater. So make the lists, search information and imagine a new, drug-free life.
11) Seek support: With friends, online, anywhere. Get no support from your friends? Then you might wonder whether they really are friends...
12) If you still cannot stop, acknowledge the problem already: This is very important. If you have it too difficult to stop, then at least realize that you're wrong. Say, before a joint picks up, blow it loudly that it is not good for you. Gradually you will begin to influence. But if you do not admit that it is bad for you, nothing will change.
13) Visualize a drug-free life: Think about how your life would be if you no longer blow. What will be different? How will you feel? How will you behave?
